Strides are continually being made to preserve and restore the most important aspects to the location.  For years it was a solo en-devour and has blossomed to an annual event with Route 66 Roadies, historians, and explorers joining forces to help in the preservation.

The 3rd weekend of October things come alive at The Road Runner's Retreat as volunteers begin with the multitude of tasks slated for the weekend.

Goals for this year include:

1. Complete clean up inside the service station

2. Remove and clean up perimeter debris

3. Remove shrubs from fence line

4. Remove old well pipes and pumps

5. Install solar lighting

6. Complete electrical conduit repairs and junction box repairs

7. perform fence repairs as needed
